Before kids, travel was effortless, last-minute road trips, chasing waves, finding hidden bars. Then life shifted: work, routines, responsibilities. Sound familiar?
We thought that meant settling down. But here’s the truth: adventure doesn’t end when you have kids, it just evolves. So we took the leap. Now we’re redefining family travel: slower, deeper, more intentional. Less Disney, more offbeat surf towns, street food, and wild experiences.
It won’t always be easy, but it’s already proving worth it.
We’re a regular family of four, slow travelling through Latin America, budgeting big, packing light, and learning Spanish together as we go.
Learning Spanish as a family isn’t just about words, it’s connections.
We’re proving that you don’t need expensive classes or complicated lessons. Just a willingness to try. Follow along as we make Spanish a natural part of our everyday adventure.
We’re Sean (The dad of this blog), Tania, Atticus, and Aurelia – a family of four.

We’re Sean, Tania, Atticus (8), and Aurelia (6) a not-so-ordinary family trading routines for backpacks and school runs for border crossings. In 2025, we set off on a year(ish) of slow travel through South and Central America.
No trust funds, no grand plan, just big dreams, small backpacks, and a lot of figuring it out as we go. From desert dunes to jungle hikes (and the occasional Netflix night in between), we’re learning how to make adventure our new normal.
Come along as we share honest family travel guides, kid-proof tips, and stories from the road, the good, the chaotic, and everything in between.
