✓ Lessons from 9 months travelling Latin America with kids
I’m Sean, a husband and dad who realised life was passing by while waiting for the “perfect time.”
So we sold certainty for experiences.
What started as a nine-month family adventure across Latin America has grown into something much bigger.
Now we’re documenting our move to New Zealand while helping other families travel with more confidence, spend more time together and build a life around experiences instead of routines.
Whether you’re planning your first family holiday, a gap year or dreaming of relocating overseas, we want to show you what’s possible.
Planning family travel can feel overwhelming.
We’ve already made the mistakes, tested the routes, stayed in the hotels and figured out what actually works with kids.
Instead of spending weeks researching dozens of websites, you’ll find honest destination guides, practical itineraries, transport advice and recommendations based on our own experiences.
Less stress.
More adventures.
There are a few things we always sort before any trip flights, accommodation, and making sure we’re covered if plans change. It’s not the most exciting part of planning, but it’s one of the few things that can make a real difference if something doesn’t go to plan.
We were an ordinary family with ordinary responsibilities.
A mortgage. School runs. Busy schedules.
Like many families, we kept saying we’d travel “one day.”
Eventually we realised that one day only arrives when you decide to make it happen.
Travel Venture Four exists to help families travel with confidence, create unforgettable memories and discover that adventure doesn’t have to wait until retirement.
Whether it’s your first weekend away or a move to the other side of the world, we’re here to help you take the next step.
Family Travel can be scary!
But here’s why we do it…
START HERE!
Not every destination is worth it. Not every trend makes sense for families. And not every “must-see” belongs on your itinerary.
These posts break down the real questions, the ones families actually wrestle with, so you can make confident decisions without second-guessing everything.
We’re sharing what we’ve learned the hard way, what we’d never do again, and how we decide what’s truly worth the time, money, and effort.
Peru isn’t just a bucket list destination, it’s layered, vibrant, and surprisingly family-friendly when you approach it the right way.
From wandering the streets of Cusco to watching the kids’ faces light up at Machu Picchu, Peru blends culture, adventure, and depth in a way few places can. Yes, there are mountains. Yes, there are ancient ruins. But there’s also warmth, color, food, and everyday moments that stay with you.
Travel here isn’t about rushing through highlights. It’s about choosing experiences that work for your family and embracing the rhythm of a country that rewards curiosity.
verpacking, airport meltdowns, wasted money, we’ve done it.
Here’s the exact toolkit we use to travel smarter.
