BOOK
FLIGHTS

We usually use a mix of Skyscanner and Aviasales when booking flights.

Skyscanner is usually our starting point. It’s great for getting a quick overview of routes, comparing prices, and figuring out the best options without overthinking it.

Aviasales is what we use to double-check and sometimes find better deals or different routes that don’t always show up elsewhere.

Between the two, you get a pretty clear picture of what flights are actually worth booking.

My Go-To Travel Resources (What We Actually Use)

These are the tools we’ve actually used while traveling as a family. Nothing complicated, just what’s worked for us on the road.

  • SafetyWing – This is what we use for travel insurance. It’s simple to set up, flexible if your plans change, and doesn’t lock you into rigid dates. It’s one of those things we didn’t think much about at first… but wouldn’t travel without now.
  • Airalo – This is how we stay connected when we land somewhere new. No hunting for SIM cards, no stress—just data straight away. It’s easily one of the most useful things we’ve used while traveling with kids.
  • Aviasales – This is usually where we start when looking for flights. It pulls in a wide range of options and often finds routes that don’t always show up on the bigger platforms.
  • Booking.com – We use this for most of our accommodation. It’s reliable, flexible with cancellations, and just makes things easy when plans change (which they usually do with kids).
  • Viator – Good for booking activities ahead of time, especially when you want things organised before arriving. We’ve used it a few times when we didn’t want to figure everything out on the ground.
  • GetYourGuide – Similar to Viator, but sometimes with different options or pricing. Worth checking both—especially in popular destinations where tours fill up quickly.
  • DiscoverCars – This is what we use when renting a car. It compares different providers and usually finds better deals than going direct.
