MY FAVOURITE
THINGS TO DO

We usually don’t overplan every activity before arriving somewhere.

Instead, we pick a few things we know we want to do, then leave space to figure the rest out once we’re there.

For bigger activities, like tours, day trips, or anything that can sell out, we’ll usually book ahead. It just makes things easier, especially when travelling with kids.

We usually check both Viator and GetYourGuide for this, as they often have slightly different options and availability depending on the destination.

For everything else, we keep it flexible.

If you’re looking for ideas, we’ve put together guides on the best things to do in each place, based on what we actually found worth it.

Use the guides below to plan what fits your trip.

My Go-To Travel Activity Booking Tools

These are the tools we’ve actually used while traveling as a family. Nothing complicated, just what’s worked for us on the road.

  • Viator – This is what we use when we want to book activities ahead of time. It’s especially useful for bigger tours or anything that can sell out, so you’re not scrambling once you arrive. We’ve used it a few times when we just wanted things sorted in advance.
  • GetYourGuide – Similar to Viator, but sometimes with different options or pricing. We usually check both, especially in popular destinations where availability can change quickly.
